
The Glasshouse Café and (the recently opened) Glasshouse Express are contemporary cafés in the heart of Canberra city. The Glasshouse Café required a new brand identity to reflect the growing nature of their business, including the opening of a second location and growing catering business. The brand needed to reflect where the business was heading, and fluidly carry across various platforms from online to coffee cups, collateral and signage. Of course, to better understand the brand, we needed to do our research including, taste-testing several cups of coffee, hot chocolate, gourmet sandwiches and brownies.



The design team created a bold, identifiable shape with striking type treatment that would stand out from the crowded Canberra café scene. The Coordinate team was careful to make the brand reflect the style of the café and clientele base, not too pretentious or serious, or at the other end of the scale.
Once the branding was established the digital team developed a website to take the café into the digital world. The use of large, vibrant photography demonstrates the quality Glasshouse Café. The website also incorporates social media. With a strong online presence, the Glasshouse Café can continue to grow.
