Northwest Tyres speclalise in new and slightly-used quality tyres imported from overseas. We were chuffed to have the opportunity to throw around tyre pun taglines and tempted to use: "Don't let a flat tyre get you down", "Don't puncture your budget" and "Wheely good savings".

Although Northwest Tyres has grown significantly over the past 12 years, selling second hand tyres is a unique concept in Canberra. Our challenge was to create awareness and build trust in the brand. The Northwest team wanted to emphasise that they guarantee the quality and the second hand tyres are half the price of new. Our strategy was to develop a strong brand and supporting visual language, write and produce a branding focused television commercial, and design and develop a professional website that reflects the quality of the brand.

Branding

The idea behind the refresh was to create a brand that was clear, informative and accentuate that Northwest Tyres stands for value. The brand also needed to appeal to the everyday consumer and be easily identifiable. The Coordinate team used bright retail colours to help sell the product, with a solid typeface that gives the impression of trust, strength and security. The stack of tyres in the logo works alongside the tagline "Stack up on value".

Advertising

Our creative team carefully crafted the script for this message-oriented television commercial. In 15 seconds, the message needed to be concise and informative, so we used animated text to reinforce the message. The team used a casual and conversational voice as a more subtle way of selling the product.

Website

The Northwest Tyres website design is simple, yet effective. It reinforces the brand and key message, as well as being an additional resource with more information and an online quoting system.
