Creative powerhouse and 2019 Telstra Australian Capital Territory Business of the Year, Coordinate, has joined forces with leading lifestyle website HerCanberra, building on a partnership formed seven years ago.
Coordinate founder Jamie Wilson says the merger will reap benefits for both businesses’ clients, as well as the HerCanberra community.
“We are incredibly excited by what our teams can accomplish together. HerCanberra readers can expect an even more dynamic brand with this support of Coordinate’s top creative minds, while Coordinate clients will be able to leverage HerCanberra’s unparalleled content development skills.”
HerCanberra founder Amanda Whitley says that bringing the businesses together is the natural evolution of an enduring relationship.
“Coordinate has been my biggest supporter since they first reached out to me as a one-woman show in 2014,” says Amanda. “Over the past seven years, Jamie Wilson and Warren Apps have provided me with endless mentorship and support. They have built Coordinate into a hugely successful business with a big heart, and I’m thrilled to be part of its future.”
Amanda says it was Coordinate’s offer to bring her team into its NewActon fold when the financial ravages of COVID forced her to take a 12-month role outside HerCanberra that cemented their already firm friendship.
“The bond between HerCanberra and Coordinate has always been strong, but COVID saw our two businesses form a deeper level of connection. I saw just how much my team were inspired by being part of a bigger creative cohort, and realised the opportunities that could exist should we truly come together, rather than being two co-located businesses.”
The HerCanberra team will spearhead Coordinate’s new Content and Communications division, with founder Amanda Whitley moving into a senior partner role, overseeing the new stream.
“Our experience shows that there is nothing more powerful than talented, creative minds who inspire each other,” says Jamie.
“Bringing our two teams together positions us to be able to take our service to the next level—we’re excited about what this means for our clients and the future of Coordinate.”
