At the end of 2017, the Royal Commission into the Misconduct in Banking revealed how the big banks have been ripping off their clients. Customers were left feeling helpless because they didn’t see any alternative to the big four, and we had to tell them there was: it’s called Customer Owned Campaign.
We created a cheeky campaign that demonstrated how badly the other banks have been treating their customers, posing the question why we accept this kind of treatment from banks. Because we didn’t have the expansive budgets of the big banks, we had to create work that stood out, that was memorable and that got people talking. That’s why delivered the serious matter in a tongue-in-cheek yet thought-provoking way. And it worked.
