A nationally significant record of Australia’s recent history

The Howard Library

Hosted by UNSW Canberra, the Howard Library houses more than 10,000 items of personal papers, official records, political memorabilia, photographs and documents from John Howard’s political career, from 1974 to 2007.

Coordinate was appointed to produce a digital showcase for The Howard Library. The website was produced to support a physical library that presented the collection in a balanced non-partisan way through a public exhibition. The Howard library was launched by John Howard himself and showcased at Old Parliament House in Canberra.

The website had to engage with website visitors – by presenting content using video, creative and interactive timelines and imagery during John Howard’s political career.

The UNSW Canberra John Howard Collection represents a nationally significant record of Australia’s recent history.

Currently the Collection is publicly available for access, by appointment, in the John Howard Reading Room at the UNSW Canberra Academy Library.
